My creative writing and poetry draw inspiration from Odisha’s cultural ethos, weaving together history, tradition, and imagination. I have worked alongside literary stalwarts such as Ramakanta Rath, Sitakanta Mahapatra, and Rajendra Kishore Panda, which has enriched my literary voice. My works span poetry, essays, and interpretive cultural writings, all aimed at evoking a deep sense of identity and belonging. Through literature, I strive to preserve the essence of Odisha’s living traditions and share them with audiences across the world.
I have lent my voice to cultural documentaries, museum audio guides, and public awareness campaigns, using expressive narration to bring Odisha’s heritage to life. My voice work is crafted to suit both scholarly and popular formats, enhancing the audience’s emotional connection to cultural stories. Collaborating closely with filmmakers and museums, I aim to create immersive audio experiences that complement visual storytelling and deepen public engagement with heritage.
I have presented research papers at numerous national and international conferences, contributing original scholarship on Indian culture, traditions, festivals, and performing arts. My cultural documentation work includes conceptualizing and producing over ten digital documentaries that capture the essence of Odisha’s festivals, rituals, and performing arts. These projects translate complex cultural narratives into engaging visual content, making them accessible to diverse audiences. As a public speaker, I have delivered lectures and keynote addresses on Indian mythology, temple architecture, and heritage conservation at prestigious universities, literary festivals, and cultural events. Collaborations with poets, historians, and academicians, including Ramakanta Rath, Sitakanta Mahapatra, and Prof. R.K. Mishra, have enriched my interdisciplinary approach.
I contribute regular columns to leading Odia and English newspapers, writing on themes of culture, heritage, folklore, and mythology. My articles are designed to connect the past with the present, offering perspectives that are both scholarly and accessible to a broad readership. Each piece aims to nurture cultural pride, spark dialogue, and deepen understanding of Odisha’s traditions in contemporary society. Drawing from research, fieldwork, and archival resources, my writings provide fresh and thought-provoking insights that resonate with both local and global audiences.
I have authored critical volumes such as Odia Bhasa, Bhrutika Swatantrata, and Odisha Pradesh Gathana, offering deep insights into the evolution of the Odia language, statehood movements, and linguistic heritage. My archival compilations, including Famine of Odisha – 1886 and Nabakalevara, have brought rare and historically significant narratives to light. A significant part of my work focuses on preserving and interpreting ancient Odia scripts through educational videos and hands-on training sessions in Karana Lipi and Odia Lipi. These initiatives have made script knowledge accessible to students, scholars, and heritage professionals while inspiring renewed interest among younger generations. Through my efforts, classical palm-leaf manuscripts have gained a new audience and relevance in today’s cultural landscape.
I have developed and curated over ten museum galleries, including three Archaeology Galleries and a Bronze Gallery, each designed with thematic depth and educational value. My exhibition designs incorporate interactive features such as a dynamic dinosaur selfie zone to engage visitors of all ages. I have served as the supervisory authority for the Ananda Bhawan Museum in Cuttack and the Jaydev Museum in Kenduli, overseeing curation, conservation, and visitor education. I have organized national and international exhibitions on themes like Ratha Yatra and Gandhi Jayanti, giving Odisha’s heritage a global platform. Alongside, I conduct seminars, workshops, and conservation training, including specialized work on Disaster Risk Management of Cultural Heritage at NIDM. My lectures at IGNCA, Kurukshetra University, and Jadavpur University, as well as my engagements with museums such as the Salarjung Museum, National Museum, and Goa State Museum, are complemented by my international experience at the Victoria and Albert Museum, the British Museum, and other renowned institutions.
